BURNT CHIP TAN BISON
Burnt Chip Tan Bison is a full-grain American bison leather with a rich waxed finish and plenty of natural character. The surface has deep color variation, combining warm tan and brown tones that become even more pronounced with wear. As the leather flexes, the waxes shift to reveal lighter undertones, creating beautiful pull-up and a patina that continues to develop over time. Every hide features its own unique grain, with varying levels of pebbling and texture that ensure no two pairs are exactly alike.
THE MORRIS LAST
The Morris last has a traditional silhouette with an almond shaped toe box that provides comfortable volume without sacrificing shape. Designed for all-day wear, it offers a secure heel, moderate arch support, and enough room in the forefoot to let the leather move naturally.

CARE
Bison leather is low-maintenance by nature. The finish repels moisture and protects the hide without much intervention.
- After each wear: Brush off dust and dirt with a horsehair brush
- Regularly: Apply a small amount of leather conditioner or neutral wax to maintain suppleness
- Wet conditions: Allow to dry naturally at room temperature, never near direct heat
- Storage: Use shoe trees between wears to retain shape and minimize creasing
- Sole: Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed
The leather will naturally darken and develop character with wear.

Interesting leather choices and excellent craftsmanship I recommend Caswell Boot Co. These did fit a bit large, so I added inserts and that did the trick.
First pair of Caswell Boots and I’m pretty impressed so far. I was waiting for something to pop up using this leather after looking through the leathers page. I love the variation in color and pull up is great! I really like the sole on these as well. Wasn’t quite sold on this style until I saw the last 2 pictures on the webpage for these. My 7th boot from Caswell, but my first lace to toe and first boot made from Bison leather. Since I’m already familiar with Caswell lasts and fits, I knew the boot would be an excellent fit before even buying. If you’ve never worn a boot or shoe with Kevin’s Morris last, it’s a slightly longer almond shaped toe, but is a generous D to E width that gives the toes and ball of the foot plenty of room to be comfortable. Narrower in the waist and heel area, it has a very snug fit in those areas so the boot feels locked into your foot immediately, despite the roomier toe area. As for the leather, medium temper with amazing pull up that starts building patina and character almost immediately. As for build quality and craftsmanship. Top notch as always (those familiar with Caswell already know this) that can easily compete with more expensive brands. This won’t be my last Caswell product.
The pics don’t do these justice, Caswell’s Carver boots are gorgeous and meticulously made! Highly recommended, these boots are really beautiful! I’ll definitely be ordering from Caswell again.
